Last week it was an email from Kent Police in connection with my complaint
that there can be no excuse for criminal proceedings arising from Court reporting however many times the subject might be mentioned.
This week it is a letter.
Over time the correspondence will be put on line but the gist of it is that the police continue to believe that journalism is harassment and maintain that it would be in the public interest if I was charged. They accept that the CPS does not agree but their opinion is what justifies the original decision and continues to do so. Hence the complaint is rejected.
There is no requirement to investigate allegations before charge.
It has been suggested to me that the real reason that Kent Police has rejected a whole series of complaints about former Bexley Councillor Maxine Fothergill is that Kent’s Crime Commissioner is also a former Bexley Councillor.
