24 October - Erith and Thamesmead or Enfield North? Does anyone care any more?

Marxists who would prefer to impose Momentum backed trade unionist General Election candidates on an area (†) which has been Conservative in the not too distant past may be courting disaster, I certainly hope so. They have rejected good middle of the road Socialists with proven local track records in favour of strike organisers. Those inclined to the right but who may occasionally waver are unlikely to back Marxists. The local Conservative Party is going to have a field day.

Always assuming that Momentum can actually get their act together.

News comes from North London that Labour Party members in Enfield North have been sent literature intended for Erith and Thamesmead. Not a good start for people who are sufficiently deluded to think they could run a whole country - ruin maybe but not run. I suppose it is the sort of mistake to be expected when you take a motley collection of off the shelf reds and thoughtlessly hammer square pegs into every constituency shaped hole regardless of merit or local preferences.
