15 November (Part 2) - The lies attributed to Councillor Cheryl Bacon

BaconFirstly the usual health warning. Councillor Bacon neither signed nor dated the lying statement written by the Legal Team Manager. It is entirely possible that she did not sanction its release and might not agree with the statement if questioned.

It is more than two weeks since I told Mr. Tuckley, Bexley’s Chief Executive, that I would allow only a fortnight to pass before reporting councillor Cheryl Bacon and others to the police for Misconduct in Public Office. I have not had a reply and Bexley council continues to ignore the mounting evidence that councillor Bacon lied constantly to protect herself from the rather trivial charge that she made a mistake while chairing the Public Realm meeting on 19th June. However I have not yet submitted my file to the police and the reason is as follows…

I became aware within hours of emailing the Chief Executive that Mr. Barnbrook had been invited to see Mr. Akin Alabi, the council’s Head of Legal Services following his very similar complaint and it seemed sensible to wait and see what Mr. Alabi had to say. Unfortunately three weeks have gone by since that invitation was made but still no date has been set.

Meanwhile the council has cancelled two consecutive meetings of the Members’ Code of Conduct Committee. It presumably remains reluctant to censure councillor Bacon for her many lies. The plan to report her and others to Scotland Yard (not Bexley police because they admit to suffering “political interference” when investigating Bexley council related crimes) may be on hold until Mr. Alabi has spoken but it has certainly not been abandoned.
