The unusual site banners are to bring attention to the fact that Labour activists in Bexley are manipulating Facebook Groups with fictional posters. They deny it, threaten police action for ‘harassing’ a fictitious character and then demonstrate their willingness to impersonate by creating a false Administrator account in my name. The banner on display is chosen randomly from a selection of three, with a fourth bearing the familiar Bexley Council is Bonkers logo.

31 July (Part 2) - More Abbey Wood parking spaces sacrificed to Crossrail

As noted some weeks ago, the one way system to and from Abbey Wood station is to revert to two way working with the loss of half a dozen parking spaces from Gayton Road (Photo 1) and more from Wilton and Florence Roads. The Gayton Road 244 bus stand (Photo 2) is to be removed too and one can now see where it will go before long (Photos 3 and 4). The lower end of Knee Hill oposite the notorious green fence.

Knee Hill Knee HillThere used to be parking spaces immediately to the north (station side) of the busy Knee Hill bus stop (currently four routes and about 20 buses per hour) but they have been removed to allow the road to be widened and a bus stand installed. The central reservation has been reduced in size to make the road as wide as possible to accommodate a parked 244 bus. There is likely to be congestion when two 244s are there at the same time. It happens very often at the old bus stand.

This work by Greenwich council has made Bexley’s twelve year old New Road Layout Ahead sign (Photo 6) under the viaduct almost correct.
