A reader
sent in a bit of news about the
two months of unnecessary disruption to the
Harrow Manorway flyover. He noted a year ago that an expansion joint created a
hazard to cyclists and reported it anonymously to Bexley Council via FixMyStreet (reference 7095327) on 6th February 2025.
So not only did the Council unnecessarily withdraw both cycle tracks from use and leave
the cones and repair debris in the the road for almost two months, they left the
reported hazard in place for ten months beforehand.
Bexley Council, ‘Listening to you, Working for you’. Oh, sorry. That fatuous
slogan has gone hasn’t it?
It would appear that TfL has noticed the dozens of road closures in Bexley
caused by the dreadful rate doubling Thames Water. Everywhere, especially
Sidcup, is a mess. I noticed yet another closure on the Southbound carriageway
outside Queen Mary’s Hospital yesterday evening.
TfL will have given the incompetents another excuse to raise their bills.
I have no street stopcock and TW has pointblank refused to talk to me about
it. I am going to ask them how they propose to cut me off if I don’t pay.
