The unusual site banners are to bring attention to the fact that Labour activists in Bexley are manipulating Facebook Groups with fictional posters. They deny it, threaten police action for ‘harassing’ a fictitious character and then demonstrate their willingness to impersonate by creating a false Administrator account in my name. The banner on display is chosen randomly from a selection of three, with a fourth bearing the familiar Bexley Council is Bonkers logo.
26 May - A 60 day Facebook ban
Life
was simpler when I almost never looked at Facebook but now that I do it has become a source of Labour Party news.
But not without difficulty. I remain banned from some Labour run Groups presumably because I might discover
yet another scam, but not yet banned from the Belvedere Ward Councillors Group.
A few days ago the two Labour Councillors caused consternation locally
by implying, to put it mildly, that they alone represented Belvedere,
after an offer of total co-operation from the Reform UK Councillor was not taken up.
I interpreted that as putting the interests of the Labour Party above the
interests of residents but was assured that that was not true.
However the criticism, not just mine, must have hit home because they
have tried to clarify the situation by adding the word Labour to their Group title.
Just for once I know more about Facebook than the more expert around me
because I was aware of the 60 day rule. But I am not so expert that I can see
how Sally and Jeremy has broken it.
Belvedere Ward Councillors cannot be renamed to Belvedere Ward Labour Councillors until well into July.
Meta says so.
Well at least they tried but for now at least, the Reform UK Councillor
is kept out in the cold.
We expected nothing less.
Note: Beware these tech companies. Earlier today a friend
sent me a WhatsApp message which briefly discussed dementia. 30 minutes later,
my view of the Belvedere Councillors’ account was peppered with
advertisements for ‘cures’ for dementia,
